EMPLOYEE FAQ
ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS

Q.        How long does the application process usually take?
A.         Normally anywhere between 30 to 60 minutes

Q.        I just applied for a position, how long does it take before I’m assigned?
A.         Depending on your qualifications and our available openings, you can expect to hear back from us in a
relatively short period of time.  Please keep in contact to see what openings arise should you not hear from
            us.

Q.        Can I refer a friend for a job?
A.         Yes, of course. At this time however, employee referral bonuses are only paid to existing employees who
refer a new employee.  These new employees must complete a set # of hours with a Client before you are
paid a referral bonus.  Even if you are not an employee, please refer a friend to our website.  Good karma
after all is a give and take thing.

Q.        What types of opportunities does Universal Staffing have?
A.         We have opportunities that can fit your lifestyle.  All of our openings are either part-time, ongoing or
permanent.  We can find something that can fit your schedule and level of experience.

Q.        Can I apply even though I am not interested in a specific position?
A.         Yes, visit us in person, complete and application, enclose your resume and we will retain this information on
file for a period of approx 6-8 months.  Should a position become available we will contact you for a position
            specific interview.

Q.        Do I have to answer all the same questions each time I interview for a job?
A.         It depends.  All of your previous application information is saved in our system so it may be as easy as
answering a couple of new questions about a specific opening and updating your background details
            accordingly.

Q.        If I apply for more than one position, will I be considered for both?
A.         Yes, you will be considered for any position you apply for.  As many of our positions may be short-term,
therefore we may be able to have you work in more than one position if the hours do not conflict.

Q.        What do you look for in a resume?
A..        Not only do we look for previous work experience, but we look for volunteering experience and community
involvement.  No experience is too silly, it is the soft skills that we are interested in as well.

Q.        What if I don’t have a car?
A.         Having a reliable means of transportation to get to and from an assignment is crucial.  If you are not able to
report to work then it hinders your availability to be placed out on assignment.  A large majority of our Client
base may not be accessible via public transit.  It depends on your work location.  Please keep us informed of
            your transportation issues.

Q.        How much do positions pay per hour?
A.         Your hourly rate will depend on your assignment.  All or our assignments pay a very competitive wage and
may vary slightly depending on assignment.  At the time that you are contacted, your pay rate for that
particular assignment will be confirmed and must be accepted by you personally.

Q.        How long are the assignments for?
A.         Assignment vary in length.  The length of the assignment will be outlined up-front with you and will be detailed
in the job description.  If it is not outlined then, it will be covered by the recruiter in the telephone dispatch
details.  Our long term assignments may be on-going and we are interested in people who want to invest for
the long haul.  Other positions may be very short term in nature and this may fit your lifestyle
